Meet Our Guides

Meet P.S., Your Local Guide and Culinary Enthusiast

Hello! I’m P.S., a born-and-bred Singaporean with a global perspective and a deep love for the vibrant flavours and rich culture of my home city. As ETC’s Chief Everything Officer (CEO) and a certified chef (trained at At-Sunrice Culinary Academy and Le Cordon Bleu), I’m passionate about sharing Singapore’s unique culinary heritage with visitors from around the world. After living in six different cities, I returned to Singapore to reconnect with its incredible energy and diverse food scene. As your guide, I’ll take you on an unforgettable journey through local markets, hidden food gems, and beloved street eats, offering an insider’s perspective into what makes Singapore’s food culture so special. When I’m not indulging in culinary discoveries, you can find me volunteering as a docent at a local art museum, where I love sharing Singapore’s cultural stories through its art. Join me on a food tour, and let’s explore the heart of Singapore together – one delicious bite at a time!

Discover the Flavours of Singapore

Singapore isn’t just a place that loves food—it’s a city where every flavour tells a story, every dish murmurs its heritage, and each meal draws you into a world of taste like no other.

Here, cultures don’t simply coexist; they meld, simmer, and blend to create a culinary landscape that’s both bold and delicate, shaped by the traditions of Malay, Chinese, Indian, and distant lands that have all found a home on this island.

Wander into the lively heart of a hawker centre, where voices mingle with the sizzle of woks and the intoxicating scent of spices. Locals lean over plates of tender Hainanese chicken rice, steaming bowls of laksa, and the layered sweetness of kueh, each dish a comforting nod to home and history. Around every corner, hidden gems and family-run stalls guard recipes passed down through generations, their food prepared with a kind of care you can taste.

Frequently Asked Questions

You’ll have the opportunity to taste a wide array of Singaporean dishes that reflect the city’s multicultural heritage. This includes everything from savoury hawker food and market specialties to Michelin-starred street food. The tours are designed to highlight the best of Singapore’s culinary offerings, ensuring a rich and diverse tasting experience.

Our walks are designed to be done at an easy pace. We have planned for air-conditioned stops and rest stops during the walks. On some walks, we use Singapore’s excellent public transportation system to move us between the eclectic neighbourhoods of Singapore. If you are reasonably fit, you will most likely be fine – but do let us know if you have a physical limitation that we should know so we can be sure you will enjoy the program.

Absolutely! We offer specific tours tailored to various dietary needs, including vegetarian and gluten-free options. These tours are curated to ensure you still experience the full depth of Singapore’s culinary scene, with stops at hidden gems and local favourites that cater to your dietary requirements. There is something for everyone. We just ask that you advise us of your restrictions, allergies, likes and dislikes before the tour so we can plan accordingly.

The duration of our food tours varies depending on the specific tour, the activities involved, and the number of places we explore. Some tours are as short as 2 hours (Market + Street Food Tour), while others can span half a day or even a full day (Culinary Secrets of Singapore or Pulau Ubin Tour). For more precise details, please refer to the descriptions of the individual tours listed above.

The Street Art + Street Food Tour has a maximum of 6 as it’s designed to be a private and intimate tour. The Pulau Ubin Tour has a minimum of 10 to start. As for the rest, they are flexible and can be tailored to your needs. We can accommodate your group to ensure a personalised and enjoyable experience for everyone.

Yes, we highly recommend booking in advance to secure your spot and allow us to customise the tour to your preferences. Early booking also helps us ensure that all dietary requirements and special requests are met, making your experience as enjoyable as possible.

Our tours are private and we love having curious kids on our walks! We just like you to keep in mind that the temperature (averaging 35°C/90°F) and humidity (more than 90%) in Singapore may not always be what children are used to. Children under 6 who won’t be eating can come along free of charge on our food tours! Just make a note when booking so we know they’ll be joining you. Just a quick note that carriers are preferred over strollers as the local markets will not have room for them.

Our walking tours go on rain or shine. Rainfall is almost an everyday phenomenon on this island. The good news is that showers in Singapore usually do not last too long, they are usually quite refreshing and give respite to the heat. If it is raining before the start of the tour, we will delay the start time by 30 mins. If it is not raining heavily and we feel the conditions are safe, we will continue the tour as planned and keep everyone in sheltered areas where possible. On instances of heavy thundery showers and the tour absolutely has to be cancelled, you will be offered the option of a refund or a reschedule.

Yes, one of our key offerings is the ability to fully customise your tour. The Culinary Secrets of Singapore Tour, for example, is entirely flexible, allowing you to focus on the foods and locations that interest you most, whether it’s exploring street food, markets, or hidden culinary gems.

Most of our tours are designed as walking tours to give you an immersive experience of Singapore’s neighbourhoods and food culture. Participants are responsible for arranging their own transportation to the designated start point and for departure after the tour ends. Fortunately, Singapore is highly accessible, with most locations easily reached by public transport or via Grab, making it convenient to join and depart from our tours.

Singapore lies on the tip of the equator and that said, enjoys a nice tropical climate throughout the year (average 30-34C/ 86-93F). Being practical folks that we are, you will notice that most Singaporeans are fairly casual, and you will most probably see people in shorts, tank tops and flip flops. Wear comfortable shoes and cotton clothing, and bring along a folding umbrella, a camera and water. There will be many places along the way to buy bottled water.

Being travellers ourselves, we understand plans change and you might not be able to join us.  Our cancellation policy is flexible, and we will refund you 100% if you inform us 7 days or more before the start of the tour. For 1-6 days, we will refund 50%. Refunds are exclusive of the service fee paid to the booking platform (FareHarbor). Unfortunately, we are not able to refund for shorter notices or for no shows. If you are late or lost, please call! We have a 5 minute wait time at our start point.

We have experience designing and leading tour routes that are accessible to wheelchairs, but this may not be applicable for all tour types. If you have people with special needs in your group, it may depend. Please reach out for us to find out more.

Children under 6 can come along free of charge. Just let us know when booking so we know the total number of people in the group.
