Everyday Secrets of Singapore Public Housing HDB Tour

Fabian was an excellent host, extremely knowledgeable, engaging, and right on time. This tour was one of the highlights of my visit to Singapore because it was so different from the usual tourist experiences.
We visited several different public housing developments, and Fabian provided fascinating context about Singapore’s housing model, but also about the country’s history, policies, culture, and the way Singaporean society works. I came away feeling that I understood the country on a much deeper level than I did before the tour.
I learned so much, asked plenty of questions, and Fabian was able to provide thoughtful and detailed answers throughout. This was one of the most meaningful experiences I had in Singapore.
Instead of just visiting places, we learned how Singapore’s public housing (HDB), community spaces, and neighborhood planning actually work in daily life. The explanations were clear, engaging, and full of real examples that you wouldn’t get from guidebooks.
Our host was knowledgeable, friendly, and happy to answer every question we had. The tour moved at a comfortable pace, and I especially appreciated learning about how community spaces, hawker centres, and public housing are designed to bring people together.

You can't go wrong with this tour-- it's one of the best I've been to. I try to do a history or culture tour wherever I can in the world when traveling so I can learn more deeply about where I am.
Kelvin was a first rate, expert guide. He not only had a command of public housing history and current issues, he also wove in so any other facts and nuances about Singaporean society and life. I learned more than I even hoped, and the choices he made for where we walked and what we saw were wonderful.
He's a wonderful teacher and has a really good instinct about what information to share as well as how to explain it. Also, he was very patient and thorough in answering all of my questions, most of which were about public housing but many of which were about completely unrelated subjects.

I highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Singapore who wants to truly understand local life. When we travel to a new place, we always hope to learn more about the local culture, and Kevin gave us that opportunity.
During the tour, Kevin showed us around local public housing and clearly explained how Singapore’s public housing system works and the benefits provided by the government. He also brought us to local restaurants so we could experience everyday local life. Kevin is extremely knowledgeable about Singaporean culture and history, which made the tour even more meaningful.

It’s a unique experience that you can’t get by just being a normal tourist. Kevin’s tour led us through a very central area of Singapore but gave us a sneak peek of how people actually live their lives in that area.
