FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
What should we wear/ bring?
Singapore lies on the tip of the equator and that said, enjoys a nice tropical climate throughout the year (average 30-34C/ 86-93F). Being practical folks that we are, you will notice that most Singaporeans are fairly casual, and you will most probably see people in shorts, tank tops and flip flops. Wear comfortable shoes and cotton clothing, and bring along a folding umbrella, a camera and water. There will be many places along the way to buy bottled water.
How far are we walking? We are not sure we can manage the humidity and heat…
Our walks are designed to be done on an easy pace. We have planned for air-conditioned stops and rest stops during the walks. On some walks, we use Singapore’s excellent public transportation system to move us between the eclectic neighbourhoods of Singapore. If you are reasonably fit, you will most likely be fine - but do let us know if you have a physical limitation that we should know so we can be sure you will enjoy the program.
What happens when it rains?
Our walking tours go on rain or shine. Rainfall is almost an everyday phenomenon on this island. The good news is that showers in Singapore usually do not last too long, they are usually quite refreshing and give respite to the heat. If it is raining before the start of the tour, we will delay the start time by 30mins. If it is not raining heavily and we feel the conditions are safe, we will continue the tour as planned and keep everyone in sheltered areas where possible. On instances of heavy thundery showers and the tour absolutely has to be cancelled, you will be offered the option of a refund or a reschedule.
I’m vegetarian/ vegan/ have a dietary restriction. Can I still experience real Singaporean food?
Of course! Singapore cuisine is the result of a fascinating culture fusion. There is something for everyone. We just ask that you advise us of your restrictions, allergies, likes and dislikes before the tour so we can plan accordingly.
Are the tours suitable for kids?
Our tours are private and we love having curious kids on our walks! We just like you to keep in mind that the temperature (averaging 35°C/90°F) and humidity (more than 90%) in Singapore may not always be what children are used to. Children under 6 who won’t be eating can come along free of charge on our food tours! Just make a note when booking so we know they’ll be joining you. Just a quick note that carriers are preferred over strollers as the local markets will not have room for them.
I’m ready to join this adventure! How do I sign up and pay?
Just send us an email hello@EverydayTourCompany.com or leave your details at the contact form. Let us know what dates/tours you’re interested in booking with us. We accept most major credit cards via online payment. You can also pay us by wire transfer to our bank account in Singapore if you prefer.
What is your refund policy?
Being travellers ourselves, we understand plans change and you might not be able to join us. Our cancellation policy is flexible, and we will refund you 100% if you inform us 7 days or more before the start of the tour. For 1-6 days, we will refund 50%. Refunds are exclusive of the service fee paid to the booking platform (FareHarbor). Unfortunately, we are not able to refund for shorter notices or for no shows. If you are late or lost, please call! We have a 5 minute wait time at our start point.
